Aboriginal Pointilistic "Dot" Paintings

Balinese dot painting was originally inspired by the pointilistic style of the Australian aboriginals and first appeared on masks, djembes and other woodcrafts.  It was only a matter of time for the technique to show up on canvas.  Some of it is done with brushes or even fingers but mostly it is done with plastic syringes (the metal needle removed).  These paintings have a pleasant bumpy texture…’cause, at the end of the day, they are a collection of thousands of individual bumps.

All of our dot paintings are available for purchase directly online.
