Sculpted Tables & Coffee Tables

There are many different woods used here but a lot of the stuff coming out of Indonesia is carved from Suar wood. Suar logs can be very large and it is of medium density (neither too soft nor too hard) so it lends itself well to carving. The heartwood of suar is much darker than that at the exterior of the logs. This colour differential is often exploited to render quite pleasing effect. Power tools play a small role in its production: hammer and chisel do the work.
